Thinking back over the year, 2020, this painting seems to be calling out to find joy. The joy is all around us if we'll just find it.
Life is always the way Tale of Two Cities begins: "It was the best of times and the worst of times." I remember being struck by this one sentence when I read this book in high school. The book was so riveting I could not put it down and even continued reading it while waiting in the band room before marching out onto the field for a football game. At this moment I can't remember the details of the story but that one sentence has never left me. Many times it has come to mind. Today it is still absolutely true. Genius.
One of my favorite verses in the Bible is Philippians 4:8. …whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report… if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.
And then there's today's way of saying in personal development for businesses. “Whatever we focus on expands.” I choose joy. How about you?
