January 29 at 11:00 AM was a beautiful day. It was amazing the shift in color caused by the sun at that time of day on the river. Everything was so much brighter and more colorful. That's the fun of going at different times of the day and making paintings with those interesting shifts of coloration.
When I chose the music room setting for this painting I was reminded of my college days when I was majoring in music and played flute almost continuously. One weekend I went with a friend and her family to stay at a cabin in the mountains of Alabama. She played clarinet and we played duets on the front porch which was right beside a river. It was a pure delight.
