December 15, Juanita Bellavance, Dry Land, From the 25 Days of Minis Portfolio, 2022, Acrylic on panel, 8 x 8 inches, Framed-9.5 x 9.5 inches
During the Winter of 2021, I visited the Chestatee River in Dahlonega, Georgia many days at many different times of the day. I wanted to capture various degrees of light. My visits included rainy days occasionally. On these days the water had a muddy look due to the rain. It was easy to walk along the riverbank because there was very little foliage on the ground and branches.
Where the water covered part of the sandy bank there was often a blue cast to it as well as on the stones. I enjoyed the texture of the sand where it had pits where puddles had formed temporarily and left their mark. I'm mesmerized by the barely visible riverbed impression of texture here.
