Juanita Bellavance, Untouched nature, 2022, Acrylic on paper, 22 x 16 inches. Unframed.
I find it so amazing that a sense of connection with quietude in nature could be just moments from the bustle of the city.Last year I visited a nearby river to immerse myself in a sense to emerge in my art. While there I noticed the contrast of where I was vs where I had been just moments before.
The rawness in this painting puts me back at the riverbank. The sense of place emerged out of my subconscious memories of the unattended path I walked. It was beautiful in winter when so much of the terrain was visible due to less leaves. Alone or in silence brings an intense presence of that quiet voice of nature in all its awe.
