Spacious fields have such a magnetic attraction for me. Maybe growing up in the city and visiting my grandparents' self-sufficient farm caused a heightened awareness of vast fields bordered by trees. I loved that there was only one house in sight for miles around. On the paved road a mile away from the front of the house we could hear a car minutes before it came into sight. And there was hardly ever a car going by.
Making the details vaguer in the painting's a reflection of the way things look through the meditative state nature often evokes.
When I noticed the zigzag lines. it reminded me how all things are energy and carry energy with them into the future. There is a slight Native American feel to the line work here. Having noticed that makes the image more endearing. Art sometimes exudes intrinsic messages through accidental moves within the work.
