Dec 20, Juanita Bellavance, Rushing waters, From the 25 Days of Minis portfolio, 2021, Acrylic on panel, 6 x 6 inches, Framed
Intheclose-up, this painting reminds me of an intriguing sky with whitewater rapids of a riverflowing below and yellow flora on its banks. I find myself staring and pondering the amazing variations of color and texture in the sky. It's like the sun is beginning to set with a slight amount of red and orange creating a mixture of purple in the blue sky. I marvel at the magic of paint surprises like serendipitous events that occur in life. It seems to give me pause for an instant.
And the pebbly riverbank below is just icing on the cake so to speak. It's a result that can only come from the abandonment of effort. Intention stops the same idea from being natural and organic. I feel this way with most things in my life. Things seem to go better when I don't try so hard and just allow instead.
