Excited by this particular palette I saw in a large rug I decided to make a painting using it. Upon completion this had a slightly Asian feel to it. I’m spite of the many shapes there is a serenity about the peace.
There is a Korean song titled Arirang that is called to mind for me from the painting. Even though the song is about a mountain it’s meaning is beloved one. It has a certain lilting sensation that I can imagine soaring far into the distance through the mist across this seeming bay.
