Dec 19, Juanita Bellavance, Where indigenous plants abide, From the 25 Days of Minis portfolio. 2021, Acrylic on panel, 6 x 6 inches. Framed.
This feels like a fictive fog where native plants have lingered after the long summer. They have an unruly nature which expands their beauty that much more. Where indigenous plants abide is a mystery of what happens after summer.
The plant life continues to live and grow, while we hibernate and dream of the outdoor living we know and love so well. Walking amongst the comforting smell of evergreen and damp dirt we enter into the fog layer that casts an eerie light feeling but still intrigues forward motion.
